Tanzanian artist Fany, also known as Khalfan Ali Rashid, returns with a culturally inspired Bongo Flava release titled “Mabinti wa Kizanzibar.”
The song celebrates the beauty, elegance, character and traditional values associated with women from Zanzibar while placing the island’s coastal identity at the centre of a contemporary musical production.
Released on October 1, 2026, “Mabinti wa Kizanzibar” translates to “Zanzibari Girls.” Rather than being presented simply as a romantic song, the record also works as a celebration of Zanzibar and the people who represent its distinctive cultural identity.
Produced by Devy Marchods, the song blends contemporary Bongo Flava with coastal musical influences. Warm melodic keys, guitar touches, crisp percussion and a steady Afro-pop rhythm create a relaxed mid-tempo sound that allows Fany’s vocals and message to remain at the forefront.
